The pink magnolia tree – (The Joy of Spring)

Walking past you every day

Looking at your cup like flowers

And your magnificent colours

Takes my breath away.

Slender and tall,

You stretch your hands high

Reaching for the sky,

Weaving good morning

to the people passing by.

You wave to the children

playing on The Green

They are oblivious to your beauty

A short lived white, purple and pink daydream.

The China porcelain cups

cannot be as pretty as you

Weaving up high.

Starting to say goodbye.

The wind blows

quite hard these days,

Makes your lovely flowers

fall in waves.

Laying on the floor

Scattered all around,

A lost short life of a beautiful kind.

Looking up high above

Towards the sky,

Light yellow green leaves

Poking their head

Underneath the white pink blanket.

A new life

Starting for the months to come

To give shade and love

To people all around.

Flower soon magnolia tree

Spread your wings high

To say hallo rather than goodbye

Giving hope to people passing by.

Inspired by the Magnolia Tree at my neighbour's house and my interpretation of the tree on the mixed Media Painting “The Joy of Spring” and the poem.
