A Tapestry of Roses- Hand Sculpted Flowers with Powertex Stone Art

Round Wooden Canvas 20 cm diameter 

Mixed Media with Powertex, fabric, twigs, acrylic paints and inks. 

This series of paintings is inspired by my love for roses and their beautiful blooms in and around the area where I live. As I was making the roses and the other flowers I kept thinking of my mum and her beautifully colourful small garden.  

Exhibited at the Under The Rainbow Events Spring Fair in Bluewater Shopping Centre from 6th of April - 12th of May 2024

Petals of Nostalgia

The roses you planted many moons ago

The roses that saw your children grow

Still so fragrant beautiful and sweet

They still give you lots of joy

They make your heart leap.

Beautiful rose

Petals yellow like gold

Your beauty is something to behold

When your fragrance reaches me

It awakens a childhood memory

Small little hands

A garden full of laughter

Mud pies and cakes

Beautifully red roses

To blossom after. 

Now the years have passed by

The little hands not so little anymore

Wrinkly hands and a life lived

Sitting there under the rays of the sun

With my beautiful children

Remembering roses planted by my mum.
